Morris W. Jackson Jr.

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, Morris W. Jackson Jr. answered the Lord's call to eternal rest at the Hospice House in Williamsburg. Affectionately known as "Eddie-Boo" to family and friends, he was born on September 7, 1956, to Morris Jackson Sr. and the late Dorothy Wallace Jackson.
Eddie-Boo was a pillar in the Williamsburg community, where he was born and raised. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in Mount Gilead Baptist Church. Eddie-Boo also attended Lafayette High School.
Eddie-Boo found the love of his life Sandra "Kay" Jackson. They started with a great friendship and their love continued to blossom. This led to more than forty years of building a family and making special memories together. Eddie-Boo and Kay were joined in Holy Matrimony on April 6, 1991. Unto this union, they were blessed with three children, Derrick Jackson, Janeen Jackson, and the late Carl "Monte" Jackson.
He was the epitome of hard work. Eddie-Boo followed in his parents' footsteps and worked for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for several years. He also worked for other employers such as the Soap and Candle Factory and the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Resort, where he was affectionately called "Mo". Eddie-Boo was not only a great example in his work ethic, he also made sure his co-workers felt seen and heard. He was not afraid to stand up for what was right to ensure that everyone was treated fairly.
Eddie-Boo loved sports and was an exceptional athlete. He played on different sports teams growing up in the community. However, the team that received most of this dedication and loyalty was his beloved Invaders. It was a treasure for him to play on a team full of inspiring men whom he admired and loved dearly. With more than twenty years of playing with the Invaders, he retired and passing his legacy to his son Derrick. Spending time with his family meant everything to him. He especially loved taking vacations to Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach with them, while listening to his favorite "Old Skool" songs.
He was preceded in death by his son Carl "Monte" Jackson; mother Dorothy Wallace Jackson; uncle George "Butch" Wallace; aunt Margo "Pinky" Wallace; aunt Carol "Sadie" Smith; and uncle Otis Jackson Jr. His legacy of love will forever remain with his wife Sandra "Kay" Jackson; children, Derrick Jackson and Janeen "Sweetie" Jackson; granddaughter Gizelle Jackson, known as his "Boo Bop"; father Morris Jackson Sr.; sister Angie Graves (Leroy); mother-in-law Mary Jackson; sister-in-law Janice "Turk" Jackson; nephews, Ryan Graves, Orlando Jackson, and Jamal Jackson; great-nephew Aiden Augon-Graves; aunts, Aurelia "Relee" Wallace, Marcia Boyd, Annette Joseph-Walker, Gloria Parker (Michael), and Dolores Parker (Willie); uncles, Ronnie Smith (Trinnese) and Harding Smith; and a host of special cousins, whom he cherished and loved dearly.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at noon Monday, March 4, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Jackson may be viewed from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
