Bruce Charles Williams, 62 of Lynchburg, Virginia joined his heavenly family on November 27, 2023. He was the son of the late Henry Anderson Williams, Sr and Edna Harvey Williams.
Bruce was born on October 15, 1961 in Lynchburg. He attended Lynchburg City Schools and graduated from E.C. Glass. Bruce went on to pursue an Associate’s degree at Phillips Business College. He also attended the HBCU University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC. Bruce loved numbers and excelled in Mathematics.
Bruce was a member of Peaceful Baptist Church in Lynchburg. He joined the choir and stated the church had the “best” breakfast, one of the many incentives for his regular attendance. The ministry played an important role in his life and he enjoyed the fellowship. Bruce loved art and was an excellent artist. He liked to draw cartoons but could draw just about anything you wanted. He also loved animals and had several pets growing up which our mother usually ended up caring for.
Bruce is survived by his children, Winter Chanel Wesley (Rasheed), Quintel C. Banks (Rahima), Ciarra Turner and Denys L. Williams; his grandchildren Eyoel Belete, Journee Lawson, Torrest A. McDaniel (TJ), Phynix L Williams and Messiah Banks. Bruce loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren, though he stated later in his life that he wished he had done things differently with his children. He was proud of them. Bruce will be greatly missed by his siblings: Yolanda R. Williams, Loxie A Williams, III (Robbin) Yvonne “Mimi” Nowlin (Bryant), Henry Anderson “Bo” Williams, Jr (Linda), Juli M. Williams, Sister-in-Law, Debra Ware, a loving aunt Helen Haskins and special friend, Regina Banks, as well as nieces: Alexa Bean, Jennifer Olivia Ellis, Jasmine V. Ware, Jamila Olivia Williams, Ashekka Moultrie; nephews: James Jamale Ware, James W. Bean, Michael A. Williams, Henry (HP) P. Ellis, Jr., Kristopher Ellis, Christopher Nowlin, Bryant Anderson “Andy” Nowlin and extended family and friends. The family gives heartfelt thanks to Yvonne Nowlin; Winter Wesley and Denys Williams for caring for Bruce and Sharon Ware, Nurse who stayed on Bruce until he did what he needed to do. Also, nephew Jamale Ware who always watched over and helped Bruce in many ways.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was predeceased by a brother, James E. Ware, loving aunts Ada Murdock, Lillian Camm, Elva Harvey, Nadine Williams, Margie Williams and special friend, Janie Rena Wesley.
