Mr. Joel Carroll Banks, age 92, of Hoschton, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joel lived in Jackson County all of his life. Mr. Banks retired from running a milk route for over thirty years. He was a member of Center Pointe Church of Hoschton.
He was the son of the late Clinton Columbus and Magdalene Marsingill Banks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Susie Culberson Banks; brothers, Rev. Howard Banks and Horace Banks; sister, Willene Williams; and grandson, Danny Vaughn.
Mr. Banks is survived by his sons, Joel C. Banks of Athens and Jerry (Jean) Banks of Hoschton; daughter, Connie (Danny Sr.) Vaughn of Hoschton; grandchildren, Jerry (Amanda) Banks, Sabrina Vaughn, Scarlett (Michael) Hart, Jenna (Rick Coffey) Banks, and Shala (Jorge) Vasquez; ten great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Center Pointe Church with Mr. David Banks officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Center Pointe Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Center Pointe Church.
The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mr. Banks to the Center Pointe Church Children's Program at 7641 Jackson Trail Road Hoschton, Georgia 30548.
