Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Hutto, age 71, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Barrow on Monday, September 22, 2025 after a courageous battle with dementia.
Tommy was born on December 19, 1953 to the late Jack and Anabel Hutto who resided for many years in Ozark, Alabama. Tommy married the love of his life, Sharron Crews Hutto, of Samson Alabama in 1974. They were happily married for 51 years. He was a 1972 graduate of Carroll High School of Ozark. Tommy loved people and photography. He interpreted the world through the lens of his camera.
Tommy spent many years working as a graphic designer in the advertising world, most notably at Haverty’s Furniture Corporate office. He loved photographing the activities of the youth at his church when he and Sharron worked with different youth groups while at their former church, Meadow Baptist Church. They were currently attending Antioch Outpost in Bethlehem, Georgia.
Tommy truly had a “larger than life” personality and never met a stranger. ..he loved to talk and make new friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Anson Michael (Mickey) Hutto. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Crews Hutto, brother-in-law Dewayne Michael Crews and Sister-in-law Melissa Crews Frost (James), niece Rebekka Crews Dawsey (Bobby), and Justin Luke Crews (Callie), their children, his favorite Pekingese (Joe) and many loving neighbors.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home in Winder, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM prior to the service at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September, 27, 2025 at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery in Samson, Alabama. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pittman Funeral Home, 731 AL-87, Samson, AL 36477.
Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Mr. Hutto.
Maddox-Carter Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
