Mrs. Alice Ann Middlebrooks, age 68, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Middlebrooks enjoyed gardening, reading, and sewing. She was a lady of independence and loved others well. Alice was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Middlebrooks was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Allen "Buddy" Gabriel, Jr., and second husband, James Earl Middlebrooks; parents, Cecil Benefield of Winder and Willie Lou Martin of Carnesville; and siblings, Michael Benefield of Carnesville and Billy Benefield of Carnesville.
Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by her children, Bel (Jeremiah) Outwater of Auburn, Dr. Steve Gabriel of Auburn, Amy Moore of Snellville, Sandy Mallory of Maysville, and Amanda (Jerry) Blackwell of Monroe; siblings, Terry (Vickie) Benefield of Carnesville, David Benefield of Carnesville, Linda (Larry) Mayfield of Pendergrass, Yvonne Crist of Bethlehem, Thomas Benefield of Pendergrass, Randolph Benefield of Carnesville, Michelle Arthur of Bethlehem, and Dana Wilson of Carnesville; nine grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family and friends also survive.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
