Mark Franklin Middlebrooks was born on January 8, 1968, to Franklin "Frank" and Lavona Middlebrooks of Perry, GA. Mark passed away peacefully at his home on September 3, 2025. Mark was born at Peach County Hospital in Fort Valley, GA. He came into the world spreading joy and that is how he left the world. Mark loved music and was able to play the piano by ear from a young age. He attended Perry High School where he played the saxophone in the band and was in the DECA club. He graduated with the class of 1986 and then attended Georgia Southern University and the University of Georgia. While he was in high school, Mark worked at Burger King and after college he worked at Badcock Home Furnishings and was in management for Moore's Department Store. When he moved back to Perry, Mark worked for many years at Frito Lay in Kathleen, GA, and currently worked at Sam's Club in Macon, GA. Mark is survived by his mother, Lavona Sue Collins Middlebrooks; Stepsister, Debbie Gillieland; Aunts, Jane Ward (Johnny), LaPaula Middlebrooks, Ruby White, Susie Grimes; Uncle, Royce (Linda); and 10 first cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Hunt Middlebrooks; Stepfather, John Dennis; Grandparents, John and Myrtice Collins, Paul Middlebrooks, and Mary Alice Middlebrooks Pierce. A service celebrating Mark's life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with a visitation being held one hour prior to service. Flowers are appreciated or donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church (c/o Johnny Ward) 2117 GA Hwy 127 Perry, GA 31069.
