Elda L. Moorman, 92, of Jonesville, passed from this life on July 14, 2025, at 8:05 p.m. at Autumn Trace Assisted Living.
Born on March 31, 1933, in Ohio County, Indiana, Elda was the cherished daughter of Harold and Louise Knollman Fisse. Her life was one of devotion and joy, a tapestry of memories shared with family, friends, and her beloved community. Elda was confirmed on March 30, 1947, at St. John's of Farmers Retreat.
Elda's early life was grounded in the values of hard work and education. She was a graduate of Cross Plains High School. Elda was well-known for her dedicated work at Dunlap, Riverside Carpet, Touch Down Lures, and lastly a bookkeeper for Advanced Mold and Engineering (AME) where she applied her skills with excellence.
The year 1959 brought Elda an abundance of love, as she joined in matrimony with her soulmate, Robert "Bob" E. Moorman, on April 18th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesville. Their unwavering partnership was blessed with loving children, Brenda (Denny Loh) Cox of Columbus and Myron (Cindy) Moorman of Columbus, who further blessed her with an array of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joshua (Sadie) Cox, Ashley (Zach) Kimmel, Rebekah (Tanner) Case, Seth (Emily) Moorman, Jamie (Michelle) Sneed, Sarah (Max) Joyner, and Christy Smith brought her immeasurable pride, as did her great-grandchildren, Royal Moorman, August Moorman, Charlotte Moorman, Margaret Moorman, Valor Moorman, Colton Cox, Owen Cox, Zoey Kimmel, Savannah Case, Briar Case, Callum Case, Lane Smith, Winnie Smith, Doc Smith, James Sneed, Jordan Sneed, Olivia Bricker, Sebastian Guillen, Ava Sneed, Leila King, Leo King, and Ellie Joyner who filled her days with laughter and tenderness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on June 8, 2025; and her siblings Kathleen (Curt) Vinup and Arnold (Allene) Fisse. She leaves behind a legacy of love-a legacy that will continue to thrive through her family and all who knew her.
As a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesville, Elda's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She navigated life's ebbs and flows with a loving heart, touching lives, and radiating a warmth that drew people to her.
Today, we remember Elda as the embodiment of gentleness and altruism, a woman whose very essence was composed of the love she so freely gave. Her memory will forever be a blessing and a guiding light to those privileged enough to have been part of her journey. We celebrate Elda L. Moorman's remarkable life and the indelible mark she has left on the world. Her story may have reached its sunset, but the colors of her impact will remain vivid in the hearts of those she touched.
The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesville with Reverend Matthew Jung officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:30 a.m. till time of service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Jonesville. Services have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
In memory of Mrs. Moorman memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or Schneck Hospice.
