Mrs. Mrs. Patricia "Pat" J. "Pat" Goins

Patricia "Pat" Meek Goins, 87, passed from this life Sunday, July 20, 2025 at The Belmont Health and Rehabilitation. Pat was born in Columbus on January 13, 1938 to Harry Meek Sr. and Waldean Holcomb Meek.

She married Charles E. Goins May 23, 1980. They resided in Columbus full time until his retirement in 1992 when they began to winter in Florida before moving to Lake Placid full time. Pat returned to Columbus full time after Charles passed away in 2022.

Pat worked for the state of Indiana for several years before starting her career working for the Federal Government at the local Social Security Office.

Pat is survived by her children Jonathan (Shannon) Gant and Brent (John) Black; step-children, Dana Stokes, Randy (Lorie) Goins and Gary (Kerrie) Goins; grandchildren, Andy (Andrea Powell) Stokes, Leah (Bill) Speckin, Sarah King, Jack Black-Sahs, Jacob Fields, Alesha Fields, Hailey Gant and Kenzee Gant; and several great-grandchildren; siblings, Greg (Kim) Meek; Carolyn (Bob) Dickerson; sister-in-law, Nellie Meek; and son-in-law, Tony Fields.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles who passed January 4, 2022; daughter, Crystal Fields who passed January 29, 2022; and brothers, Harry "Buck" Meek Jr., Harold Meek and Steven Meek.

She was a leader to her Florida neighbors and served as a board member in her retirement community. Pat had many friends and enjoyed having social gatherings with them. She was also a wonderful wife and mother who loved her family dearly.

Following Pat's wishes cremation will take place. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the veterans section at Garland Brook Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Ron Bridgewater officiating.
