Mrs. Rena Wofford Martin, age 90, of Hoschton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Gateway Gardens Assisted Living.
Mrs. Martin was a longtime devoted member of Sharon Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. Rena was an excellent seamstress often making beautiful quits for her family and friends.
Rena was preceded in death by her husband, H. Eugene Martin; daughter, Connie Sue Chappel; parents, Truman Oscar Wofford and Lola Whitlow Sellers; and brother, William Alton "W.A" Wofford.
She is survived by her loving daughters; Judy Elaine Marvel of Hoschton, Faye (Dee) Miller of Auburn, and Cathy Rugenia Hooks of Hoschton; son-in-law, Bobby Chappel of Yatesville; sister, Joyce Barnes of Chicopee; eight grandchildren, Denny (Wendy) Wenz of Alabama, Nick (Cheryl) Wenz of Jefferson, Dr. Dee (Leah) Miller of Midland, Brett (Lauren) Miller of Monroe, John Wood of Hoschton, Shannon (Josh) Meeks of Winder, Rebecca Thompson of Barnesville, and Bill (Cheyenne) Chappel of Yatesville; and fifteen great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home with Rev. Steve Baker, Rev. Tim Tapper, and Rev. Terry Barnes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Mrs. Martin.
Maddox-Carter Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
