Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Charlotte J. Cosby of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Sister Charlotte Cosby was born on July 23, 1952, in Gordo, Alabama to the late James C. Latham and Sarah Ruth (Williams) Spencer. She departed this life to enter eternal life on August 18, 2023.
She accepted Christ at an early age. In her adult years, she rededicated her life and became a member of Parkview Church of God then New Harvest Church of God until her death. Sister Cosby graduated high school in Cleveland, OH. She returned to Tuscaloosa and attended Shelton State Community College where she received her License Practical Nursing (LPN) Degree. Throughout her career, Sister Cosby enjoyed working at several nursing homes in Tuscaloosa County and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.Sister Charlotte married the love of her life Reginald Cosby on December 31, 2007. They became a family and joyfully helped raised their four grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was her family and her church family.
Sister Charlotte Cosby leaves to mourn and cherish warm memories her beloved & caring husband, Reginald Cosby; daughter, DeSheila Latham; son, Jerri-Lee Dykes both of Tuscaloosa; three grandsons, Adonis Dykes, Braylon Ellington, and Kenndy Ellington; one granddaughter, Sypress Dykes all of Tuscaloosa, AL. Their love for her will be in their hearts indefinitely.
Her siblings Denise (Gery) Carter of Atlanta, Tony (Deborah) Latham of Cleveland, Beulah Latham, Trent (Sandy) Spencer, Willie Mack all of Tuscaloosa, and Tracy (Kimberly) Spencer of Opelika.
A loving father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mannie Cosby. Her special aunts & uncle Annie Palmer, Evelyn Mullins and Minister Alice & Joe Latham, including a host of relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Charlotte Jean Cosby will be held at New Harvest Church of God, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all attendees of services and visitations are required to wear a mask and attempt to maintain 6ft social distancing.

Sending my condolences love and prayers for the family she was very much so loved and she knew the Lord and wanted everyone else to know the Lord as well. I thank God for all the conversations we had and how we would encourage each other family know that she is now resting in the Lord.
