Murray Harold Davidson, Sr, 82, of Semmes, Alabama passed away on February 13, 2025.
Murray, who was affectionately known as "Fuzz", was born on June 16, 1942 in Reform, Alabama to Jeremiah Davidson and Clara Beard.
With no more than a 9th grade education, Murray was a successful entrepreneur and business man much like his father before him. He spent his career as the owner and operator of University Exxon and then University Transmissions into his retirement. Over the years he enjoyed watching girls' softball and loved a round of pool at the billiards club- and he wasn't half bad at it, either. Murray also cherished the moments he was able to spend with his loved ones, and liked to emphasize the importance of family. Additionally, he took careful consideration in donating to causes such as St. Jude’s and The Wounded Warrior Project.
Murray Harold Davidson also spent 3 and a half years in the US Army where he served as a Private E2. During his time in the service he traveled to places like France, Germany, and Italy- even visiting sites like the leaning tower of Pisa.
Murray is preceded in death by his father, Jeremiah Jerome Davidson; mother, Clara Lillie Bell Davidson; and his siblings, Emily, Gussie, Nellie, Betty, Chester, Hazel, Serena, Robert, Mary, Jerry, and Carl. Murray was one among 13 brothers and sisters.
Murray is survived by many loved ones including his brother Lamar; his children, Harold, Greg, Alicia, and Jessica; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Mariah, Jayden, Braxton, Wyatt, Fletcher, Myles, Lexi, Katrina, and Paisley. He is also survived by his loving wife, Linda, to whom the family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude in appreciation of the tender care and devotion she has enacted over the years to ensure her husband's dignity and comfort. We are deeply thankful to her.
To honor Murray's life, a funeral service will be held on Friday February 21, 2025 at 10:00 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. His family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am. Following the service, Murray will be interred in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
