Murray Howard Heller, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ, he resided in West Orange and Mt. Arlington, NJ, before retiring to Midlothian, VA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Murray was a 1958 graduate of Weequahic High School and went on to study at Rutgers University. He enjoyed a successful lifetime career in retail sales. Murray was married to his wife, Leslie, for 57 years after meeting on a blind date in 1965. He was always ready with a welcoming smile and was a founding member of the Westwood Village Men's breakfast club. Murray was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie; his children, Andrew (Tiffany) of Midlothian, VA and Erik (Carrie) of Washington, NJ ; and his grandchildren, Walker, Madeline, Zachary, and Louden. Murray's legacy will live on through the memories and love shared by his family and friends. Murray was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanie Deutsch and Etta Grossman.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 10:30am at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
