With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we remember the life of a remarkable man, My Quy Mai, who was born on February 2nd, 1956, in Da Nang, Vietnam and passed away on September 1st, 2025. My was a charismatic and compassionate man whose love for life was infectious. His radiant personality never failed to light up any room he walked into, and his warmth touched the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
My was a devoted husband to Loi Nguyen, a loving father to Lan, Jasmine, Le, Hai, Thanh, and Minh, and a cherished brother to Hong, Hung, Tam, Nhut, Anh, Xiem, Tuan, and Sang. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nhieu Mai and Ta Do. His family was the center of his universe, and he was the foundation of theirs. As a successful plumber, he dedicated his life to providing for his family, and his resilience and work ethic were truly admirable. He was not just a plumber, but a master of his craft, a testament to his belief in the dignity of labor and the satisfaction derived from a job well done.
With an unyielding spirit and generous heart, My found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved music, found peace in fishing, and had a passion for travel - always ready to embark on a new adventure. Tennis was more than just a hobby; it was a testament to his competitive spirit and zest for life. Despite his many interests, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and friends. As the saying goes, "The best things in life aren't things, they're people like you." My's life was a testament to this sentiment. His love for helping others was a reflection of his compassionate nature and his belief in the power of kindness.
We invite you to join us in celebrating My's life during a visitation and Buddhist prayers at the McHoul Family Funeral Home, 354 Adams Street, Dorchester, MA, on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The burial will immediately follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Boston, MA.
In remembering My, we encourage you to leave your memories and upload photos to his memorial page, creating a tapestry of love that captures the essence of this extraordinary man. My's life was a beautiful journey, and we invite you to help us commemorate his remarkable existence by sharing your personal anecdotes and photographs. His legacy will continue to live on in our memories and in the lessons he taught us.
