Mylan H. Nelson

Mylan Hasting Nelson, age 92 of West Bend, WI, formerly of Roseau, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Mylan was born on March 31, 1933, to parents Alfred and Ida (nee Sorteberg) in Ross Township, MN. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1961.
Mylan was raised on his family farm, where he enjoyed the daily tasks of farming. He loved his home in Roseau Minnesota and enjoyed returning to visit family and friends. He was known to be very handy and also a prankster. He cherished his time up north and the time spent chisel plowing on his Steiger tractor.
Mylan is survived by his children, Deb (Richard),Diane, Terry, Jeana (Brent) Loving Grandpa to Marcella and Great Grandpa to Kinsley; brother Udell; cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He is further survived by sweet friend Joyce, who has been a big part of his life for the past several years.
He is preceded in death by his significant other of 45 years, Francis; children, Janice and Richard; grandson, Brian; siblings, Dale, Avis, Maryls, Marion.
Funeral Services for Mylan will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street, Hartford, WI 53027). The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a brief service to celebrate Mylan. Graveside Military Honors and Internment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park (3301 E. Forest Hill Ave. Oak Creek, WI 53154)
