It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myra "Mae" Pilar Louden. Mae passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at home. She was born on October 12, 1965, in the Philippines to Marcellino and Euphemia Villanueva. Mae was a cherished mother, Lola (grandmother), aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a beloved presence who truly embodied the power of family and unconditional love.
Mae's greatest joy was undoubtedly her family. She brought people together, organizing gatherings and making sure everyone felt loved and included. She was a devoted Lola, treasuring every moment spent with her granddaughter, Marquesa. Mae was an incredible supporter of her daughter, Laura, encouraging her to pursue her dreams, no matter how wild or unconventional. Whether she was tidying up during one of Laura's many parties or joyfully helping out at her shop, Mumu Vintage, Mae supported her family in every way she could. She spoke proudly of her three children to everyone she met and was thrilled to see them flourish in their own families and careers. Mae especially cherished the times her sons, Robert and Keith, came to visit from Orlando. Those weekends filled her home with warmth and laughter. She also made trips to visit them, staying connected to their lives and showing up for birthdays, milestones, and everyday moments. Her love and pride in them were constant and unwavering.
Mae also found deep meaning and purpose in her work. For many years, she served as a caretaker at the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent in St. Augustine, where she was known for her gentle spirit, dependable care, and heartfelt connection with the sisters and staff. Her presence there reflected her lifelong devotion to service, compassion, and community. Outside of work, Mae found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching Korean dramas, singing karaoke, and indulging her sweet tooth. She was the confidante you could turn to, always ready to listen and share in both your laughter and your tears. She lived with grace, continued to learn from her experiences, and strove to grow with each step. Her heart knew no limits and overflowed with love.
Mae lovingly cared for her companion and late husband until his final days. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved parents and her husband, Vincent.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Laura Louden (Cort), and her only granddaughter, Marquesa, of St. Augustine; her sons, Robert Louden (Khema) and Keith Louden (Jasmine), all of Orlando; as well as her extended and beloved family in both the United States and the Philippines, who will carry forward her legacy of love and connection.
A celebration of Mae's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with. A visitation of family and friends preceding the service will begin at 10:30 am.
