Myra Kathy Sheffield

MS. MYRA "KATHY" KATHLEEN SHEFFIELD, age 74, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Oasis Palliative Care in Eastman.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, December 20, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Mr. Bentley McDuffie officiating.
Ms. Sheffield was born in Eastman, GA and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a 1968 graduate of Dodge County High School, and later graduated from Middle Georgia College and Georgia Southern University. After graduating from college, she was a part time teacher and later went to work for the State of Georgia as a social worker, where she retired after many years of faithful service. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and working around her home. She was the daughter of the late Audrey Burch Sheffield and J.S. "Shippy" Sheffield and was preceded in death by her Brother, Jay Quinnon Sheffield.
She is survived by her Brother – Gene A. Sheffield (Cynthia) of Boiling Springs, SC; Niece – Christine S. Hart of Swannanoa, NC; Nephew – Joshua Sheffield (Laura Jean) of Augusta, GA; Great-Nieces and Nephew – Alyssa Farmer, Chloe Hart, and Isaiah Hart; Aunts and Uncles – Louise B. Evans, Rossie Giddens (Carol Ray), Therell Cobb, all of Eastman, GA, Regina Sheffield of Acworth, GA and Denise Sheffield of Bonaire, GA; Numerous Cousins including her Special Cousin – Carol Sheffield of Chauncey, GA; Numerous Friends and former coworkers.
The family will receive friends at the gravesite from 12:30PM-1:00PM before services on Wednesday December 20. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to The Refuge House for Ladies, 345 Pearl Bates Ave., Eastman, GA 31023.
