Myrle Reeves McLaurin, 87, of Livingston, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Myrle was born on August 8, 1937, in Livingston, Texas, to Monroe Reeves and Agnes Hammond Reeves. She married the love of her life, Robert Allen McLaurin, and together they built a beautiful life filled with faith, hard work, and devotion to family. They raised three sons: Robert Allen "Chuck" McLaurin Jr. (Pam), Roy Steven "Steve" McLaurin (Kim), and John Russell "Rusty" McLaurin (Kimi). A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Myrle dedicated the majority of her life to raising her family. Once her boys started school, she went back to work, serving her community through positions at Livingston ISD and the local hospital. Myrle was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, where she faithfully served. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her five grandchildren: James Byrom, Kaleb McLaurin, Makenzie McLaurin Thomas, Hannah McLaurin Pixley, and Colton McLaurin, and her soon to be twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her son, Rusty; her brother, Wilburn; and sister-in-law, Sue. She is survived by her sons Chuck and Steve; daughters-in-law Pam, Kim, and Kimi; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers Aidney Reeves (Ruth) and Ronnie Reeves (Juanita); sister Cecilia Carr (Bill); and numerous other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services for Myrle will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Oak Grove Church of Christ. A private graveside service will follow at Rice Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Byrom, Kaleb McLaurin, Colton McLaurin, Cullen Thomas, Michael Pixley, Brent Carr, and Ryder Pixley. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Pine Ridge Healthcare, Dogwood Trails, and Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Myrle in her final season of life.
