Myrna Bailey

Myrna A Bailey, 89, of Blair formerly of Richland Center, died peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Grandview Care Center in Blair. She was born in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin on July 24, 1936 to Loyd and Lula (Robbins) Potts. Myrna graduated from Soldiers Grove High School. She was united in marriage to Gordon Bailey on October 20, 1956, and together had two sons Douglas and Donald, all preceding her in death.

Myrna worked at Wisconsin Gas and was able to enjoy an early retirement with Gordon where they enjoyed being snowbirds in warmer climates. They rotated between Florida and Texas each winter traveling with their RV. Camping was a large part of Myrna's summer as well, enjoying time with her family and friends with favorite spots in Hatfield and Lake Neshonoc. She enjoyed shopping, puzzles, and collecting cookbooks or recipes in magazines and newspapers.

Myrna is survived by her daughter-in-law Lois Bailey of Whitehall; grandchildren Heather Bailey of Whitehall, Eric (Erin) Bailey of Menomonie and Paula Bailey (Shane McCarthy) of Richland Center; great grandchildren Michael Payne of Whitehall, Emmitt and Easton Bailey of Menomonie and Malachi and Bailee McCarthy of Richland Center; brothers Andy (Shirley) Potts, Roger Potts and Robert (Gail) Potts and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, husband and sons, she is preceded in death by her sister Camilla Grimme; brothers Orland (Ruth), Oliver (Joan) and Melvin (Elaine & Esther) Potts; sister-in-law Patricia Potts; brothers-in-law Clarence (Freda), Darold and Duane (Norma Jean) Bailey.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, September 2 at Pratt Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow the service in the Richland Center Cemetery, with a luncheon to immediately follow the graveside. The family wishes to thank Grandview Care Center for her wonderful care since 2019. She enjoyed many years of laughter and activities even though dementia changed her behavior over the years. Additional gratitude to the wonderful caregivers from St. Croix Hospice over the last 18 months.
