Myrna Kirkhuff Obituary

Myrna (Serfass) Kirkhuff, 87, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, with family by her side. Born on June 10, 1938, in Fountain Hill, Myrna lived a passionate life marked by devotion to her family, her work, and her many hobbies. She graduated from Fountain Hill High School and went on to earn her teaching degree in Health and Physical Education, from East Stroudsburg State College, later completing a master's degree. Myrna spent 31 years as a teacher at Salisbury High School, where her dedication helped shape the lives of many students. She was the beloved coach for the Salisbury Falcons Girls Basketball team, passionately supporting and encouraging her players both on and off the court. Myrna had a keen interest in doing hair from a young age, offering to cut, perm, and style anyone who would agree to it. After retiring from teaching she earned her Beauty license working for 15 years as a hairdresser alongside her husband in his barber shop. Myrna lived her life with remarkable energy, determination, and dedication. She believed deeply in the value of hard work and often said that anyone could achieve their goals if they were willing to put in the effort. She held herself to high standards, choosing to live with integrity and treating others with fairness and respect. Her strength of character and moral compass were a constant presence in the way she carried herself and in how she raised her family. Myrna had many interests that brought her joy. She loved horses and spent countless hours riding and caring for them. She instilled in her extended family a deep, abiding love for horses and riding, a passion which has now endured through several generations. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. These were more than hobbies to her, and she took pride in the things she created and shared. She approached life with abundant strength, a strong sense of purpose, and deep personal values. Family was the center of Myrna's life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Harold Kirkhuff, sharing 61 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Bolez and Sherrie Amelio, her grandchildren, Ryan Rodgers, Tanner Bolez, Troy Bolez, and Abby Amelio, and her great-grandchild, Arrow Rodgers. She was preceded in death by her siblings, George Serfass, Lois Horney, and Robert Serfass. The memories her family made together will always remain an enduring part of her story. Myrna will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all who knew her.
