Myrna P. Robertson passed peacefully out of this life on August 27, 2024 at her beloved home in Springville, Utah. She was born on November 29, 1943 in small-town Moroni to Mary Cloward Blackham and Richard Miller Peterson. She grew up with her two older brothers Boyce and Kline.
She raised prize turkeys in Moroni and loved to play softball. Once, she even stole a truck and didn't get in trouble for it.
She graduated from North Sanpete High School and went on to study at Brigham Young University for a few years. She became a dental hygienist and then received an associate's degree in business management from Utah Technical College. Myrna would go on to hold a variety of jobs. For many years she worked as an Avon saleswoman. She then became an account manager at Night Adjustment Bureau. After that, she worked as an account executive and sales manager for Bonneville Collections until she retired in 2008 with Express Recovery Services.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She married Larry Robertson on December 29, 1980. They were later sealed in 1992 in the Hawaiian LDS Temple. They were married for 35 years. She is survived by her three children – Malynda Vaughn (Robert), Elizabeth Shoell-Stanton (Jeff), and Nicholas Shoell (Jennifer) – seven grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her 80 years of life, you could find her reading the paper with her cats at her feet, baking a rhubarb pie, or planning her next cruise. She created a beautiful yard that was nominated for the Hidden Garden Show in 2012. But no matter what she was doing, she was most likely walking around with her curlers in. And you loved her for it.
Myrna was a kind and thoughtful friend.
She loved helping others whether it was donating her beautiful clothes to neighbors or making many treats and dinners to share with friends.
She had an eye for the finer things in life and she loved to dress fancy, even if she was just going to the grocery store. She had a love for the color pink, truffle chocolates, cream pies, and Market Street Grill. And most recently, she became a fan of Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches and chai tea. But most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and host Thanksgiving dinners, backyard BBQs, and many other types of gatherings.
Myrna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Myrna's life took many turns, but she always had faith that things would get better. "It's not what problems you have, it's what you do about it that counts," she said.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Blackham, her father Richard Peterson, her brothers Boyce and Kline Blackham, her husband Larry Robertson, and her grandson Talon Shoell.
We want to thank all those who were good friends to her over the years. Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Interment will be at the Moroni City Cemetery. To express condolences, visit www.nelsonmortuary.com.
