Myron Collier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Collier Funeral Home - Benton on Jan. 5, 2026.
Myron W. Collier was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Those who knew Myron in his younger days may remember his many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed taking road trips with friends on his Harley. He also had a love for the outdoors and hunting. Myron enjoyed hunting both elk and deer and made many great memories at his hunting cabin.
Myron was a self-educated and hardworking man. He began his career as an electrician in his early 20s. In 1972, he started Collier Electric at just 30 years old. After being in business for nearly 50 years, Myron sold it. Though he hasn't owned or worked at Collier Electric in several years, his impact there is still evident in both the name and the business's current success.
After Myron's semi-retirement, he filled what was once his work schedule with new hobbies. It didn't take long to realize that Myron had an artistic side. First, he taught himself to paint. He painted multiple works of art that are still displayed in his home. Then, he learned to read music and took guitar lessons. After learning to play the acoustic guitar, he began to study the art of building guitars. Over the last few years, Myron built multiple guitars and spent a great deal of time in his guitar shop. All of his creations were built to perfection.
Myron's talents were endless. There seemed to be nothing that he could not do if he set his mind to it. Above all and most importantly, Myron was a man of great faith who loved and feared the Lord. This love was reflected in the way that Myron loved and served others. He trusted the Lord in all things. Even in his most trying times, Myron put his troubles in God's hands and reminded others to do the same. He spent much of his free time studying the Bible and listening to old sermons by Charles Spurgeon, David Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and John F. MacArthur. Myron was confident in his salvation and looked forward to the day that he would meet Jesus face to face and be reunited with his precious mother.
Myron is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tammie Collier; daughters, Yvette Denee' Knight (Ron) and Amber Carver (Patrick); brother, Charles A. Dye (Victoria Young); grandchildren, Shelby Davis (Pete), Chris Knight (Christy), Nikki Doty (Devon), Paxton Carver, and Lyla Carver along with twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oneida and Clifford R. Dye; siblings, Sallie J. Cope and Danny R. Dye.
There will be no public services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Beyer Cemetery Fund, 3510 Tulipwood Dr., Paducah, KY 42003.
