Myron Lewis "Mike" Fairchild

LONGVIEW, TX - Myron "Mike" Lewis Fairchild passed away on September 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born January 5, 1953, to Daniel Myron Fairchild and Deffie Zona Merworth Fairchild, he grew up in Odessa and graduated from Permian High School in 1971, where he played saxophone in the marching band. He had the gift of gab and a knack for connecting with people, which made him a natural salesman. He combined his love for people and the water when he opened Sport-Line Ski Shop in Longview, Texas.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dan Fairchild; sister Dana Fairchild; brother Russell Fairchild; and his beloved wife of 40 years, Vicki O'Dell Fairchild. He is survived by his mother, Deffie Fairchild; sons John O'Dell (Diane), James O'Dell (Melisa), Brian Fairchild (Courtney); daughter Meghann Fairchild (Christopher Poe); grandchildren Tyler Jenkins (Andre), Hunter Jenkins (Kara), Preston Jenkins, Austin O'Dell (McKenzie), Savannah Witjaksono (Adji), Brooklyn Fairchild, and Brinklee Fairchild; great-grandchildren Brayden Jenkins, Kayden Jenkins, Nora Jenkins, and Weston O'Dell; along with many extended family members and countless friends.

A time of remembrance will be held at Mike's property-5100 Brent Road, Longview, Texas-on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a man who made every moment feel like an adventure.
