Myrtice Claudine Rose, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and friend, transitioned to her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, after an extensive stay in the hospital. Born on November 7, 1945, in Jacksonville, FL, Myrtice was the youngest of five children of the late Lois Nadine Ward Rose and James Robert Rose, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James Robert Rose, Jr., her sister, Mildred Rose Macklin, and her nephew, David Rose. A product of Duval County Public Schools, Myrtice dedicated her career to serving as a Special Needs Paraprofessional at Mount Herman Exceptional Student Center, where she was instrumental in providing educational services to students with significant physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.

Myrtice is survived by her children: Nannette Chieves (Lonzie), Karen Jackson (Dee Dee), and Johnnie Jackson, Jr.; her sisters, Jacquet Roulhac of Jacksonville (Charles), and Elaine Rose Moreland (Harold, Sr.) of San Antonio, Texas; her nephews, Larry Rose (Priscilla), Carl Rose, Harold Moreland, Jr. (Lauren), and Andre Moreland; her nieces, Jacqueline Rose Marribanks, Paulette and April Rose, and Beverly Rose McCoy; and special friends, Isabel and Yvonne Daniels, Darlene Green, Carrol Demps, and Ida Cushion. She leaves behind a host of other family members, former colleagues, and many sorrowing friends.

Ms. Rose may be viewed on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Carthage Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 1329 North Market Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.
