Our dear mom and mammaw passed away on September 8, 2023 at her home. Myrtie Sue Mahfouz Engelkes was born December 26, 1936, to Espy and Nettie Mahfouz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth (Pickle) Engelkes and by her parents.

Myrtie is survived by her loving children, sons Mike (Lindsey) of Wabash and Brian (Amy) of Stuttgart and daughter Suzanne Stroh (Steven) of Stuttgart; four grandchildren, Christopher Engelkes, Olivia Noble (Justin), Lauren Fox (Zac) and Kelly Stroh (Laura); five cherished great-grandchildren; Kenley, Sevi and Nash Noble and Reese and Rhett Fox; brother, Don Mahfouz (Dorothy); and many close cousins, nieces and nephews.

Myrtie had many accomplishments some including obtaining her real-estate license and becoming certified in performing dialysis.

Myrtie had many hobbies and interests - she was an avid reader, swimmer, loved horses, playing tennis, watching all sports, gardening, and being outdoors especially with her grandchildren. Most of all she loved her family and caring for them.

Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home with funeral services, officiated by Deacon Greg Fischer, following at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
