Myrtle Casey Obituary

Myrtle Clarine (Brown) Casey, 82, passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, November 5th in The Villages, Florida.
Known to her friends and family as Billie, she is survived by her husband and best friend of 62 years, Paul Albert Casey, of Medina, Ohio. Paul and Billie lived in Medina until 2002 when they relocated to Florida. They have lived in the Village of Winifred for the last 16 years.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Jeannene (Basil) Kapp of Knox, Indiana; Marietta (Ernest) Goodman of Birdseye, Indiana; and brothers Casey and Clifford Carnahan.
Billie was born on September 19, 1940 in Leesville, Louisiana, to parents Willie and Anastasia (Tanner) Brown. She graduated from Medina High School in 1958.
Billie was a loving wife and mother. She married Paul Casey on May 7, 1960 at St. Sebastian Church in Akron, Ohio. The couple raised 4 children, including Phillip (Debbie) Casey of Orlando, FL; Debbie (Michael) Ludwig of Mentor on the Lake, OH; Annette Casey of Johnstown, OH; and Christine Wille of Fruitland Park, FL. They have been blessed with 5 grandchildren: Melissa (Devin) McCartney; Brandon Wille; Emily and Matthew Ludwig and Robert Halfhill. They have also 3 great grandchildren: Aubrey Wille; Maverick & Peyton McCartney.
Billie loved golfing, quilting, making flower arrangements, watching westerns, traveling to Las Vegas, and spending time with friends and family. She was known for her homemade apple and banana cream pies. She and Paul were lifetime members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She lived her life in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. She was a faithful woman who loved and served the Lord, her family, church and community.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, November 23rd at 8:30AM at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, The Villages, FL.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Billie's life. A private internment will be scheduled at a later date.
