Grafton, NH- Myrtle Sadie (Gallup) Cooper passed away on October 5, 2010, at her home. She was born September 20, 1929, in Grafton, NH, the youngest daughter of Robert and Ora Gallup. She was a lifelong resident of Grafton, residing on Library Road for more than 50 years. She attended grade school at the East Grafton School and went on to graduate from Andover High School, in the class of 1949. She was married on June 26, 1949, to the late Leslie B. Hackeman and later to the late Paul M. Cooper on March 8, 1975. She was active and often served as a leader and officer in many community organizations including the East Grafton Christian Union Church, Sunday School, Youth Group and Helping Hand Society, the Grafton Crafters, various PTAs and other school-related organizations and others. She served as a Grafton Ballot Clerk and most recently as the Librarian of the Grafton Public Library where she devoted her energies to increasing readership among young and adult readers. She was President and Treasurer of the NH Chapter of the Stuckley Wescott Society and for many years served as a floral superintendent at the Canaan, NH Fair. She was an accomplished quilter and was also skilled in a variety of other crafts as well as an avid gardner. She served as a practical nurse and caregiver to many individuals in Grafton and the surrounding areas as well as being a domestic worker, providing catering services and being employed by Sprague Electric Corp. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one sister, Inis LaWare, of Hill, NH, five sons, Calvin and his partner, Eric of Wake Forest, NC, Lloyd and wife, Ellen of Enfield, NH, Richard and wife, Paula Corriveau of Pittsfield, NH, Wayne and wife, Diane of Danbury, NH and Douglas and wife, Sara of Enfield Center, NH, two step-daughters, Dureen and husband, Frank of Vero Beach, FL and Cynthia and husband, Daniel of Manchester, NH, two step-sons, Larry and wife, Pam of Bow, NH and David of Virgin Islands; nine grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Millbrook Christian Fellowship Church on Route 4, Grafton, NH. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery also in Grafton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grafton Public Library, P.O. Box 310, Grafton, NH 03240.

Calvin, Lloyd, Richard, Wayne, Douglas & families,

So sorry to hear of your loss. I so enjoyed time spent with you & your mom growing up. Last time I saw any of you was at your mom's 80th birthday party last year what a great time. Keep your memories of her close and I prayer that will help ease the pain. We atleast know she is in a better, beautiful, peaceful place with the Lord.
