Myrtle I. Holtman, age 89, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 surrounded by her family at her daughter's residence in Dayton. She was born May 28, 1934 in Mikado, Michigan to the late Floyd and Pansy (Short) McGillis. On August 25, 1951 she married Thomas E. Holtman and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1996.
Survivors include her children, Ann Swartz, Glasgow, Kentucky, Terry (Mike) Huser, Celina, Mike (Chris) Holtman, Hillard, Ohio, Joan (Jeff) Theiss, Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Jane Holtman, Dayton, Cathy (Todd) Yohey, Lebanon, Ohio and Jeanne (James) Strickland, Dayton; thirteen grandchildren, Nikki, Gabe, Kristin, Troy, Jon, Wesley, Avilyn, Emma, Ellie, Erin, Derek, Myranda and Cameron; thirteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Drummond, Fort Worth, Texas.
She is also preceded in death by one brother; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Elisabeth.
Myrtle owned and operated Holtman's Tax Service in Celina.
She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of The Mercer County Democratic Party where she helped for many years with local elections and was a past member of the Celina American Legion Post # 210.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Tim Benjamin officiating; where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Memorial contributions can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
