N. Carol Fadeley, 82, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at ChristianaCare Union Hospital with Amedisys Hospice Services of Elkton, MD. Born on January 11, 1943, in Pocahontas, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy Wilson North and Margarette Lovelle (Fowler) North, and stepmother, Zelda North.
Carol was formerly employed as a linen clerk at Perry Point Veterans Hospital in Perry Point, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann (Fadeley) Hovatter (husband Chris Sr.); her sons, Joseph Fadeley, Jr. and Gary Alan Fadeley; seven grandchildren, Chris Hovatter Jr. (wife Amy), Kara Hovatter, Jessica Fadeley, Gary Fadeley Jr., Ryan Fadeley, Ashley Fadeley, and Tyler Shackleford; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Crosse, Jackson Hovatter, and Rynn Blische.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fadeley, Sr.; daughter, Rose Marie Fadeley; brothers, Thomas North and Ercil North; and sister, Thelma North.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Water Witch Fire Company, in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 12:00 Noon, at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the service. Pastor David Landers, of Gateway Baptist Church of Rising Sun, MD, will officiate. Interment will follow in New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
