Nadine Anderson, 75, of Neptune, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Perth Amboy to Anna Karockay and Willie Vaughn. Nadine graduated from Perth Amboy High School, then continued her education at Charles E. Gregory Nursing School. She worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, first treating patients at Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Holmdel, then moved into labor and delivery, emergency and other departments at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Nadine found her passion in nephrology managing their dialysis unit. Her last position before retirement was in a managerial role for the clinic at JSMC. Nadine was the recipient of several career accolades and awards including the Elizabeth I. Kellogg Award and Florence Nightingale Award. Her favorite accolade was that of Grandmother.
Nadine loved traveling with her husband, taking cruises, road tripping to Lancaster, PA, Civil War sites and Skyline Drive in Virginia and wherever the wind took them. She loved cooking big meals and being surrounded by her family, visiting with and spoiling her grandchildren and passing on family recipes and traditions.
Nadine was a loving friend to many, finding them in nursing school, during the birth of her children and in patient rooms; many of these friendships lasted several decades.
Nadine was predeceased by her parents and a handful of dear friends. She is survived by her soul mate, devoted caregiver and faithful husband Dan, her son Thomas Johns, his wife Jennifer and their sons Tyler and Samuel, her daughter Kaitlin, her children Alexander Johns, Olivia Alicea and Penelope Rodriguez and her husband Marcos Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her younger brother Bill and his wife Sue, countless cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held in early Spring 2023.
