Nadine Regina "Dina" Frederick Bates, age 71, of Long Beach, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Frederick; mother, Thelma Pauline Aultz Frederick; nephew, Billy Joe Martin; niece, Terry Ann Martin Zybinski; brother-in-laws, Arnold "Hicky" Martin and Clyde Edward Poole.
Dina is survived by her long-term companion of 38 years, Darwin Ezell; her son, Forrest Gene Bates (Tracy); her siblings, Shirley Ann Frederick Martin, Diana Lynn Frederick Odle (Thomas), and Mary Lois Frederick Poole.
Dina pursued her education at Harrison Central High School, proudly graduating with the Class of 1972. Her commitment to her roots and her community led her to a dedicated career with the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, where she retired after years of service contributing to the betterment of her town.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dina was known for her warmth, compassion, and dedication to her family as an amazing sister and mother. Her nurturing spirit and open heart left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her. A woman of faith, Dina was a member of the Catholic community.
Dina's passions extended into her home, where she found great joy in cooking, making holiday candy, and displaying her creative skills through various crafts. These hobbies not only brought her joy but also allowed her to connect with others and create cherished memories during family gatherings and holiday celebrations.
