Nancy Elizabeth Alexander of Chesaning,

died on September 8, 2025 at Union Court in St. Charles, at the age of 85.

Nancy was born on July 30, 1940, to the late Clyde and Martha (Goschka) Hodges at home in St. Charles. She was a 1957 graduate of Merrill High School. After school, she married her husband, Floyd Alexander on May 9, 1959. They spent 41 wonderful years together until his passing in 2000. Together they had four children, Gary, Diane, Roger, and Alan.

Nancy worked at Wolverine Shoe Factory in Ithaca from 1958 until 1968, Hartley Nature Center in St. Charles, went door-to-door for Census, and volunteered at the Brant Township Hall at the voting poll. She had a passion for quilting, and was an avid seamstress. She took pride in making clothes for her family, especially Diane's wedding dress. She was the neighborhood "seamstress" and loved being able to help those who were in need of her sewing skills. She also dabbled in painting and wallpapering houses throughout the years. You could oftentimes find her walking in her nature trails, reading books, doing puzzles, going fishing, working in her garden, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Diane Rogers and Alan (Teresa) Alexander; grandchildren, Chris, Amy, Buddy, Kaylee, Troy, and Cayla; 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Marge) Hodges, Phil Hodges, Sharon (Terry) Klick, Janice Kristin, and Chet (Cindy) Hodges; daughter-in-laws, LuAnn Alexander and Sharon Alexander; brother-in-law, Jim Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Alexander; two sons, Roger Alexander and Gary Alexander; parents, Clyde and Martha Hodges; special friend, Mike; sister, Peg Green; brother Martin "Buzz" Hodges; son-in-law, Glen Rogers; sister-in-law, Joyce Hodges; and brother-in-law, Dennis Kristin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at McGeehan Funeral Home in Chesaning. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour before the service, at McGeehan Funeral Home in Chesaning. Burial will follow at Brant Township Cemetery.
