Nancy J. Anderson, born March 7, 1961, in Mt. Clemens, MI, left this world on September 28, 2025, in Warren, MI, undoubtedly rolling her eyes that anyone dared write something "boring" about her. So here it goes, Nancy-style.

Nancy lived with sass, stubbornness, and a heart big enough to take in anyone who needed love. She was famous for saying, "I am older, I'm wiser, and I will always win." And more often than not, she did.

She was quick-witted and never afraid to laugh at herself. Whether it was poofing her hair to look taller, joking about her prosthetic leg, or insisting that Santa Claus put holes in her nightgown. She asked for cleaning supplies at Christmas, demanded BBQ ribs with mac & cheese at family gatherings, and never shied from saying exactly what was on her mind (with or without a filter).

The love of her life, Anthony Jones, passed before her, but Nancy kept his memory alive every day. Her greatest pride was her son, Joshua G. Anderson (Shaylynne), whom she raised and loved as her own, along with her cherished grandchildren, Bentley and Aspen. She was also devoted to her siblings Judith Malloy (Bern), GeorgAnne Dion, Kathryn Quinlan, Patti Gilliam, Edward Anderson, and Joseph Anderson (Pat), and treated every niece and nephew as if they were her own kids. Her brother Ed shared a unique bond with Nancy, equal parts bickering and unshakable loyalty.

Nancy's professional career as a prominent insurance agent reflected her knack for preparing others for life's unexpected twists. After a massive stroke in 2010 and a leg amputation in 2020, she faced her own challenges with blunt humor and grit. Her kitchen once displayed a sign that read, "Do something. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way." That was Nancy through and through.

Preceded in death by her soulmate Anthony, her parents Kathryn and George, and her sister Andrea, Nancy leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and sass. She would want everyone to smile, tell "classic Nancy stories," and keep her spirit alive with humor and joy, not tears.

In her honor, share a meal heavy on BBQ ribs and mac & cheese, spoil the people you love, and say what's on your mind, Nancy certainly always did.
