Nancy Ruth Ritchie Barker was born on May 5, 1947, and entered eternity on February 14, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents: Win and Nell Ritchie; and her husband, Michael Barker. Ruth is survived by her son, Robbie Currier (Kallie); and grandsons: Kyle Currier (Madison) and Robert John Currier, Jr.; siblings: Pam Roesch (Steve), Kitty York (Jay), and Allen Ritchie (Melissa); and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Ruth graduated from Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education in Fairhope, Alabama. Some favorite childhood memories with Ruth include fun with her family on Mobile Bay. Ruth was an active member at First Baptist Church Theodore where she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Bible study.
Ruth's colorful outlook and honest commentary on life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was dearly loved.
The family held a private graveside service on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama.
