Nancy Lou Bittinger, 81, of Charles Town, WV passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at Reston Hospital Center, Reston, VA.
Nancy was born Feb. 19, 1944 in Charles Town, WV. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Hardy and Lucy Dillow Hardy.
She was employed in housekeeping for an assisted living nursing home.
She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
She was a Godly woman and a friend to all.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley LaRue, Barbara Edwards, both of Charles Town, WV, son, James Edwards and wife Mary, of Harpers Ferry, WV; grandchildren, Ruby Jones, April Holmes and John Collins, II; great-grandchildren, Taylor Gibson, Jade Maltese, Adianna Pachpco, Desyha Walters and Sophia Collins; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Charles Bittinger; sisters, Ruby Hardy, Betty Hardy, Susan Hardy; brothers, William Hardy, Howard Eugene Hardy, Thomas Hardy and Paul Hardy.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Ranson, WV with Dr. Henry Christie officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Kearneysville, WV
Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
