Nancy Boecker, age 88, of Lake Elmo, MN, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025.
Nancy was born on June 16, 1936, in Ladysmith, WI to Ross and Almyra (Veness) Bell. She attended school in Ladysmith, and graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1955. On May 12, 1956, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Boecker at the Church of Christ in Ladysmith, WI.
Nancy and Bill moved to Winter, WI, where they began their life together. Nancy was always busy, loving and taking care of their four children, as well as baking, sewing, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Her children will never forget the homemade bread she made for an after-school snack and the many delicious meals she made.
They moved to Ellsworth, WI in 1971 and shortly thereafter she started working outside the home. Not long after that, she became a dedicated daycare provider for many years, whose former clients described her as a second parent. She loved each and every one of the children she took care of and often spoke of how smart and cute they were.
As much as she enjoyed the children she cared for, Nancy looked forward to her yearly trips to Branson, MO with the love of her life, her husband Bill. Often, they would take their grown children and grandchildren along on the trip, insisting on taking care of them made the trip more enjoyable.
Nancy was a sweet and gentle soul, and her dry sense of humor kept all who knew her laughing. Her family was always first in her life and she was always planning a family get-together. She was selfless and willing to help who she could. Her and Bill visited their children and her sister, nearly every weekend.
Nancy is survived by her children: Kim (Jon) Kamrath and Diane (Boecker) Nelson; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sisters, Rosemary, Hilda, and Venny; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her son, Craig; and her daughter, Vicki.
A Celebration of Life will be held at O'Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, WI on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m.
Nancy's loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
