Nancy L. Bowlin, 86, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born on May 6, 1939, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of Donald W. and Forest S. Tuttle Whalen. Nancy attended Osage City High School and graduated with the Class of 1957.

Nancy married the love of her life, Cary D. Bowlin, on October 18, 1958, in Osage City. They began their lives together and raised their family in Osage City. Their marriage and family continued to grow for the next 67 years.

As a young woman, Nancy worked at the Continental Telephone Company in Osage City. Nancy later took a position with the Citizens State Bank in Osage City. Nancy retired at age 65 after 26 years of service.

Nancy and Cary were faithful members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City.

Nancy will live on in the hearts and treasured memories of her husband, Cary D. Bowlin of their home; two daughters, Terri Fultz and husband Gary of Osage City and Sandy Schiffelbein and husband Fred of Topeka; three sisters, Susan (Lawrence) Buenger of Osage City, Cindy Whalen of Grand Junction, Colorado and Kathy (Neil) Johnson of Burlingame; four brothers, Michael (Kathie, deceased) Whalen of Osage City, Richard (Jane) Whalen of Bonner Springs, Greg (Sandy) Whalen of Osage City and Kurt (Susie) Whalen of Lawrence; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous extended family and a community of dear friends. She was preceded in death by a brother and Ernie (Donna, deceased) Whalen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the church. Burial will follow services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care or the Osage City Public Library and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N 6th Street, Osage City, Kansas 66523. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
