Thomas (Tom) Richard Jenkins passed away peacefully at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, on January 19, 2026.
Tom was born on April 10, 1955, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of David Jenkins and Elnora (May) Jenkins. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1973 and went on to work as a welder, a trade he took pride in throughout his life.
Tom was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand. He was always ready to assist friends and neighbors, whether it meant helping plant crops or fixing fences, reflecting his generous and caring spirit. Tom was also the proud father of four adopted children: Becky, Clela Jo, Randy, and Eric, whom he loved deeply.
He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Robertson; his four-legged companion, Donald; his children, Becky Clardy, Clela Jo Jenkins, Randy Jenkins, and Eric Jenkins; several grandchildren; his brother, Louis Jenkins; his sister, Linda Croucher; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, David and Elnora Jenkins; and his siblings, Roy Jenkins, Dolores Schoepflin, Bill Jenkins, and Clifford Jenkins.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on February 7, 2026, at the Osage County Senior Center in Osage City, Kansas, beginning at 1:00 PM. A burial service will follow on February 9, 2026, at the Osage City Cemetery, beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to assist with funeral expenses and sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box 43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
