Nancy Faye Cook Brooks, 82, of Dresden, TN passed away November 7, 2025. Born on December 29, 1942, Nancy was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She touched the lives of many with her profound sense of humor, beauty, creativity, intelligence, and outgoing nature. She was a compassionate friend and possessed a heart to serve others.
Nancy graduated from Dresden High School and went on to pursue nursing at the Baptist School of Nursing. After one year, she married her dear husband, Larry Brooks. The Methodist School of Nursing accepted Nancy into their program and she became a member of the first graduating class of married women to become a Registered Nurse in 1970. She cared for patients for over 30 years.
Growing up, Nancy participated in pageants. A favorite memory was being crowned Miss Humboldt at the Strawberry festival. She treasured time spent with family and enjoyed adventures from Montana to the Florida Keys. Christmas season was her favorite time of year. She looked forward to singing Christmas carols, decorating, and hosting family gatherings.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Larry Brooks; her children and in-laws Kimberly and Pascal Bedrossian, Bryant and Leslie Brooks, and Caton and Diane Brooks; her grandchildren and in-laws Raymond and Kate Bedrossian, Garrett and Caristy Brooks, Hunter and Anna Brooks, Elise Bedrossian, Caitlin Brooks, Hillary and Jessica Brooks, Daniel Bedrossian, Rachelle Bedrossian, and Zadie Brooks; her great-grandchildren Pascal Bedrossian, Claire Bedrossian, Evelyn Brooks, Lennon Brooks, Elijah Brooks, and Luke Smith; Cousins Sheby Jordan and Randy Butts; Nieces Debra Hines Banks, Lisa Harville, and Susan Bunch Pruitt, and nephew Chuck Harville.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Hillery Cook and Christine Butts and grandson, Ryan Brooks.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Bowlin Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am until service time at 1:00pm with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery. Bro. Hunter Brooks will officiate the service.
