Nancy Ann Brown of Sherwood, AR went to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, December 22, 2025. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on January 31, 1938, Nancy was the daughter of Mary and Lester Calef.
She was the devoted military wife of 25 years to the late Earl Lee Brown. He and Nancy brought three beautiful girls into the world, which were the joy of her life: Cheryle, Karen, and Brenda. The family traveled to Germany as well as many states across the U.S. with the military. Nancy enjoyed a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant with the FAA until retirement.
Sunday afternoons were spent with their kids and grandkids. Cousins enjoyed backyard football games and earning a penny for each gumball they picked up out of the backyard. Nancy always hosted family holiday gatherings with gifts piled high stretching across the living room and colorful Easter egg hunts.
Later in life, Nancy enjoyed the company of her partner the late Bill Weaver for 28 years. Together they attended Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church. They enjoyed trips to Tunica and spending time with family.
Nancy loved to travel and being with her family. Her daughters and grandkids share many fond memories of their numerous trips up and down the east coast, to the Gulf, and out west. She delighted in attending the many school functions and extracurricular activities of her grand and great grandchildren such as: Grandparents Day festivities, Thanksgiving lunches, Christmas productions, Band Concerts, soccer, football, and baseball games.
She was a strong, independent woman devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.
Nancy was preceded in death by her late husband Earl, late-life partner Bill, brother, Albert Calef, and grandson Mark. She is survived by her daughters Cheryle Coleman, Karen & Roger Mumert, Brenda Burk; grandchildren Steven Traffanstedt, Patrick & Alison Coleman, April Traffanstedt, Michael & Nikki Mumert, David & Lindsey Mumert, Krisdee McDole, Brian & Amy Burk, and Keith Burk; great-grandchildren Zach, Audrey, Payton, Raegan, Maesyn, Cliff, Ryan, Kayla, and Lilly
