Nancy Jo Buchanan Jackson, age 87, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Nancy Jo Jackson was born in Humphreys County, Tennessee, on October 12th, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Cleather Buchanan and Eula Bell Lofton Buchanan.
After graduating from Waverly Central High School, Nancy moved to Nashville. She was employed by Life and Casualty Insurance Company and attended the University of Tennessee - Nashville. After an extensive career in insurance, she retired from Aetna Life Insurance Company as a senior Life Claims Analyst. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Nancy was an avid animal lover, and her pets brought her much happiness. She enjoyed sports and bowled in several state and national tournaments. In her later years, she crafted floral arrangements and donated several of these to fund raising events.
She leaves to cherish her memory
Two sisters, Louise Buchanan, and Peggy Buchanan of Waverly, One brother, Clyde Buchanan (Brenda) of Waverly, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Nancy will be on Saturday, February 10th from 10 AM until the funeral service beginning at 12 PM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN.
Bro. Joe Rhodes will officiate the service with interment in McKeel Cemetery.
Pallbearers who will serve are Tim Mullinax, Clyde Buchanan, Kay Nichols, Natasha Breeden, and Cheyenne Nichols.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Samuel Cleather and Eula Bell Lofton Buchanan; One Brother, Larry Eugene Buchanan; Three sisters, Grace Buchanan, Irene Buchanan, and Lonnie Scaggs and four Half-brothers Egbert (Ruby) Buchanan, George (Ruth) Buchanan, Luther (Dorothy) Buchanan, and Robert (Lillian) Buchanan.
Luff-Bowen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
