Nancy Lou Burrow

Sophia - Nancy Lou Farlow Burrow, 96, entered into eternal life on January 27, 2026, from her earthly residence.

Nancy was born in Randolph County on August 28, 1929, to the late Horace Reagan Farlow and Sallie Hunt Farlow. In addition to her parents, her husband of 48 years, Earlie Leon Burrow also preceded her in death.

Nancy was a faithful member of Archdale United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir, Friendship Sunday School Class, and assisted with many other activities at the church over the years since joining in 1963. She was a longtime member of the Archdale-Trinity Lions Club. After her retirement she delivered Meals on Wheels and participated in many activities at the Archdale Senior Center.

Nancy was the first employee of the City of Archdale after its incorporation in 1969. In those early days of Archdale, she was the City Clerk, Tax Collector, acting head of Public Works and acting City Manager. As each additional employee was hired she was able to shed her many hats and at the time of her retirement in 1994, she held the position of Tax Collector.

Nancy is survived by her children, LuAnn Burrow Spain (Chuck) of Raleigh, Jeffrey Burrow (Robin) of Sophia; grandchildren, Mandy (Randy), Heath (Jayme), Casey (Jordan), Christopher (Amanda), Karna (Russ), Michelle (Jon); 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on February 4, 2026, at Archdale Methodist Church 11543 N. Main Street in Archdale. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jeffrey Burrow and Lay Pastor Gary Hunt, officiating. Burial will follow in the Flint Hill Community Church cemetery in Sophia.

In lieu of flowers family has requested memorial donation to the Archdale Methodist Church-Building Fund at the address above.
