Nancy Coppaway, 72, of Rushville, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Knightstown.
She was born on January 26, 1953, in Waupan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anthony A. and Marguerite R. (Klingbeil) Scharschmidt. On November 1, 1985, she married Terry William Coppaway, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2014.
Nancy is survived by her sisters, Kay Case and husband, Henry, and Barbara Goodrich, both of Rushville; and many nieces and nephews including, her caregiver, Shelly Smoot of Knightstown.
In addition to Terry, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.
In 1971, Nancy graduated from high school in Lomira, Wisconsin. She attended college for four years at Marquette University in Wisconsin.
Nancy was a sales associate for Kroger, retiring in 2024.
Services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St., in Morristown.
