Thomas Nicholson Obituary
Virginia Beach - Thomas Merl Nicholson, aged 84, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born on January 28, 1941, in Moline, Illinois, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication and service.
Thomas was a retired Lieutenant in the United States Navy, where he served with distinction in the field of nuclear submarines. He was a proud alumnus of Marquette University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ralph and Eugenie (DeCapp) Nicholson, his cherished wife, Julia (Schimmel) Nicholson, and two beloved sons. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and honor through his surviving sons, Timothy Nicholson and Kevin Nicholson (and wife Kim), five grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, and numerous family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A private service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk, where Thomas will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Julia. Simply Cremation is assisting Thomas' family during this difficult time.
