Nancy "Senior" Crothers

Nancy Crothers, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 26, 2025 while at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on October 13, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Franklin Senior & Margaret Russell Senior.

Nancy was a bright, outgoing, and fun-loving person who brought joy to everyone around her. Incredibly witty and exceptionally intelligent, she loved games that challenged her mind. A proud graduate of Penn State University, she followed their football team faithfully throughout her life. She was also a devoted Eagles fan, rarely missing a game, and amazed friends and family with her impressive knowledge of football.

Nancy had a deep love for animals and found great joy in the many dogs and cats she cared for throughout her life. Each one held a special place in her heart and was remembered fondly. On summer days, Nancy could often be found in her favorite spot-the swimming pool in her beloved community, where she built many valued friendships and cherished the place she called home.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard. Together, they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage and created a blended family filled with love. Nancy's two children, Rick of Florida and Karen of New Jersey, and Richard's son John of Georgia, brought her immense pride. Between them, Nancy and Richard were blessed with eight grandchildren-Ethan, Gabriel, Jacob, Tessina, Sean, Sarah, Tyler, and Dana-as well as several great-grandchildren.

Despite the miles that separated them, Nancy worked hard to stay close with her family, who meant more to her than anything else.

Nancy is reunited in passing with her parents, her brother David Russel Senior, who passed away on September 18, 2025 at his home in North Carolina, and her sister Barbara Senior, who passed away at the young age of 29.

Nancy's legacy lives on in the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the kindness she showed to all.

A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 2PM on Saturday October 18, 2025 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
