SALEM - Nancy Jane Dabelstein, 83, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
Nancy's journey began on December 10, 1941, in East Rochester, Ohio, where she was born to William and Elizabeth (Berdine) Moore.
Nancy was a graduate of United Local High School, Class of 1959. Shortly after graduation, she embarked on a new chapter of her life, marrying her high school sweetheart, Thomas Yarwood Jr., on June 6, 1959. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, and together they created a home filled with love, raising their four children. They celebrated 38 years of marriage until Tom's passing on March 15, 1998. In 2003, Nancy's heart found love again, and she married Fred Dabelstein, and they celebrated 22 years of marriage.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, Nancy also worked outside of her home. She began her career as a teacher's aide, before owning and operating the Little Chapel Preschool and Childcare Center in Salem for many years alongside her husband Tom. She finished her working years as a baker at Whitehouse Fruit Farms.
Above all, Nancy's faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. She loved Jesus and praising Him with her Greenford Christian and Bridge of Hope Church families. Her love for Jesus was evident in her daily life through the kindness and love she showed for others.
Nancy found joy in crafting, visiting the ocean and collecting seashells on the beach, and adding to her collection of cardinals.
Nancy leaves to carry on her memory, her husband, Fred Dabelstein; daughter, Michelle (Richard) Dillinger of Salem; sons, Scott (Kelly Davis) Yarwood of Salem, Greg (Beth) Yarwood of Salem, and Brian Yarwood of Salem; siblings, Donna (Jerry) Beiling of Springfield Township, and Dwayne (Jeane) Moore of Salem; sisters-in-law, Carol Moore of Tulsa, OK and Betty Moore of Salem; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Moore, Wilbur Moore, Doris Meier, and infants, Billy and Robert Moore; and her granddaughter, Grace Elane.
A funeral service for family and friends will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State, St., Salem, with Pastors Mike Miller and Joanne Baltes officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
