Nancy Desulis, 80, of Rushville, IL passed away at 1:37 p.m. on Thursday January 24, 2025 at Beardstown Health & Rehab in Beardstown, IL. She was born on January 25, 1944 in Fayetteville, AR a daughter to the late Millard Franklin Holcombe and Eva Louise Faust Holcombe. She married Thomas Desulis on August 7, 1965 in Elms Spring, AR. He survives. She is also survived by (1) son, Michael Anton Desulis of Rushville, IL, (1) daughter, Kathryn Leigh Desulis of Berwyn, IL, (2) grandchildren, Brian and Eric Desulis of Rushville, IL, (1) sister, Frankie Hawk of Friendsville, TN, (1) niece Denise Compton of Friendsville, TN, (1) sister-in-law, Janet (James) Hissong of Yorkville, IL. Nancy attended High School in Springdale, AR. She lived and worked in Alexandria, LA where she met Tom who was an US Air Force Airman from Central Illinois. After completing his service, they moved back to Illinois to raise their family on the farm. With the children grown, Nancy attended WIU and received a B.A. degree, Summa Cum Laude Graduate, and worked as a Graphic designer for WIU in Macomb, IL. She was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Honors College, Rushville Junior Women's Club, Schuyler Co. Depression Glass Club and became a collector of glassware, antiques and art, and Foundation Chair and Board Member of the Rushville Rotary Club. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 27, 2025 at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Charla Meyers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and The Parkinson's Foundation.
