Nancy S. Dinges

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy S. Dinges, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished family member, on March 16, 2025, at the age of 71.
Nancy was born on August 3, 1953 to Robert H. Redenius and Marie Redenius Bergman. She graduated from East High School in Rockford, IL in 1971 and from Northern Illinois University in 1975 with a Bachelor's in education. She received her Master's in Teaching from National Lewis University in 1985. She taught in the Rockford Public School system for 34 years, mostly at Walker Elementary School.
Nancy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Bill Dinges, whom she married in 1991. The two shared many wonderful years together before Bill's passing in 2018. They enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories with each other, and Nancy's adventurous spirit and love for life were evident to all who knew her.
Nancy's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Jim) Duncan; her son, Craig (Leah) Carter; and her stepson, Aaron (Jill) Dinges. She was a proud grandmother to Kylie, Kendall, Wyatt, Colton, and Abe, and her grandchildren brought her immense happiness. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Kitty and Carolyn, who were a special part of her life.
Nancy's kindness, warmth, and love will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her fondly for the love she gave and the joy she brought into their lives.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Tavern on Clark, 755 Clark Dr., Rockford where loved ones can come together to honor her and share memories of the remarkable woman she was.
