OKLAHOMA-- Nancy May Dutil, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Born on December 5, 1953, in Augusta, Maine, Nancy's life was a testament to the power of selflessness and the enduring strength of familial bonds.
Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late George L. Cloutier and Constance Dorothy Bonsant Cloutier. Her journey through life was shared with her devoted husband, Roger Dutil, and their loving children, the late Shawn Michael Dutil, Samanthe Dutil, Peter Louis Dutil, Erica Dutil of Norman, and Andrew Paul Dutil of Arkansas. Nancy was a beloved sister to Linda Ann (Cloutier) Gause and her husband Anthony, and George D. Cloutier of Sidney, Maine. She was a proud grandmother to Madison, Brayden, Deztinee, Aubrey, and Remington Dutil, and a doting great-grandmother to Westin Whittle, Bryan Russell, and Rycker Dutil.
Nancy's early years were spent in the scenic surroundings of Augusta, where she grew into a kind-hearted individual, eventually graduating from high school and setting an example of lifelong learning and personal growth. Her love for her family was her guiding light, and she instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of compassion and generosity that so defined her own life.
Nancy's legacy is carried on not only through her family but also through the countless lives she touched with her kindness. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to many.
She is survived by her loving husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory by living out the values she cherished so dearly. Nancy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love and selflessness, and she will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and the warmth she brought into the world.
As we bid farewell to Nancy May Dutil, we celebrate a life well-lived and a heart that was always full. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family, and her memory will remain a treasure in the hearts of all who knew her. Nancy's journey on earth has ended, but the love she shared will continue to ripple through generations.
In honor of Nancy's life, her family will gather for a private ceremony to share memories and celebrate the extraordinary woman she was. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten, and her story will be told with fondness and admiration for years to come. Nancy May Dutil, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, will be deeply missed.
A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. A committal service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 10 a.m. at the chapel at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME 04330.
