She was an immensely loved Mother, Maw Maw, Aunt, Great Grandmother, Sister-in-Law and Friend. Her passing leaves behind many grieving hearts. Nancy’s strength, resilience and fortitude were beyond belief. Nancy was born at Duke Hospital on June 14, 1938 to Mable Wrenn Phillips and Charlie Cicero Phillips. She spent almost her entire life as a resident of Haw River. She was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Haw River High School and went on to marry Sam Faucette, also known affectionally as “Bud”. Bud and Nancy made their home in Haw River and raised four children there. They were married for over 47 years before he passed away in 2006. Nancy was a member of Haw River Christian Church for over 50 years and served in many capacities including Youth Leader, Trustee and Deaconess. After high school, she attended Burlington Business College. She had a passion for accounting and continued her education at Alamance Community College and the UNC School of Government. She retired from the Town of Haw River after 21 years of service, finishing her career as the Assistant Town Manager. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of the Haw River Senior Citizens as well as the Haw River Historical Association. She remained great friends with members of her graduating class . You will never find anyone more proud to be part of the Haw River community than Nancy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin Phillips and James Phillips; sisters, Arlies (Sis) Lloyd, Frances Linens and Peggy Jene Phillips; nieces, Paula Lloyd and Karen Annette Johnson; and great granddaughter, Everleigh Rudd.
