Nancy Fleckenstein Obituary

Fleckenstein, Nancy A. Muskegon Mrs. Nancy Ann Fleckenstein, age 83, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on December 9, 1938 to Charles and Cornelia (Berghuis) Bowman. Nancy had worked as an inspector at Acutex for 14 years prior to her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She also enjoyed making crosses and giving them away as gifts. Nancy was a member of Family Bible Church. She is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" (Deana) Sugarbaker, Kristy Stewart, Terri (Greg) Crane, Jeffrey (Leslie) Fleckenstein, Chip (Brandie) Fleckenstein; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings-in-law, Shannon Fleckenstein, Ernest Flermoen, David Fleckenstein; and dear friends, Sue and Nick Musk and Audrey Garlock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fleckenstein; parents; son-in-law, Jeff Stewart; sisters, Wanda Flermoen and Beverly Hartman; brother, Walter "Butch" Bowman; siblings-in-law, Michael Fleckenstein and Dody Fleckenstein; niece, Barb "Barbie" Hill; and dear friend, Gene Barney. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 and one hour prior to her service on Friday. SERVICES will be 12:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2022 at The Sytsema Chapel. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Nancy may be directed to the American Cancer Society. You may sign her online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com

Has it been a whole year? I often wish that I had known about her passing so that I could share your loss at her funeral. I miss our phone chats and will always be grateful for the "Cousins" reunions that helped us get reacquainted. God bless, Mary Alice

I am soooo very sorry for the loss of Nancy. Long time ago friend from childhood with my sister Dorothy Goetchius. I hadn't seen Nancy in many years but ran into her by chance about 2 weeks ago.. She had the same smiling eyes that I recalled from her past..I'm so happy to have ran into her..
